For this project, I was given 5 weeks to create a brand and design 5 deliverables. The brand that I developed is an e-commerce brand called Pixelgirl, which sells designer apparel created for and marketed toward women. The target audience that I was dealing with for this project were female geeks aged 17-35. I knew that my target audience was familiar with the web, so I wanted to create a brand that lived entirely on the web. With this in mind, I chose deliverables that, while maybe less conventional, paired nicely with my brand strategy. A e-newsletter and social media kit (comprised of Facebook, Twitter and Tumblr layouts) gave me the platform that I needed to reach my target audience and also gave the brand the potential to generate a community.
As photography was outside the scope of this project, none of the photography seen here is owned by me. Photos are from Blackmilkclothing.com, Forever21.com and Hottopic.com, all sites that I found inspirational when breathing life into this concept.
