This project was done as part of my Production class. I was required to invent a fictional company and design a logo, business card and identity for the brand as well as package designs for a line of products. My company was a fragrance company called “Ol’Factory” that specialized in sustainable, ethical fragrance products targeted specifically at women. The logo featured an old fashioned mill which helped cement the concept behind the company’s name as well as their eco-friendly identity.
For the package design I experimented heavily with using transparencies and recyclable papers. I felt that the use of transparencies added a sense of realism to the project and also gave me interesting opportunities to experiment with the form of the packages in 3D space. The compositions of flowers on the transparent portions of the packages were arranged digitally from scans of flower petals that I dried in the microwave in my dorm. Each individual package was cut and folded by hand.
